 In1989,
the China Youth Development Foundation established the first youth foundation
for helping those youths who were deprived of education in poor regions.
The purpose was to gather social forces to donate education, and to
ensure the rights of education for children in poor regions. This is
the famous 'Hope Project'. Since the very day on which 'Hope Project'
was put in effect, it has won wide understanding and support from all
aspects of the society, and the longing-for-education eyes of those
children who were deprived of education in poor regions also affect
BOTer's heart. Helping those children is the responsibility of the whole
society, and it is also the specific reflection of BOT's sense of social
responsibility as well as its love. Not only do the staff donate money
voluntarily to help those children who are outstanding in both behavior
and learning and are deprived of education because of poverty to get
back to school again, the Corporation also decided to establish a Hope
Primary School in Fengning County, Hebei province, which is the designated
poverty-relief county for SDPC, thus undertaking the lofty mission of
helping the poor |
